MOU signing ceremony on Digital Economy and Digital Transformation for SMEs in Cambodia
On Friday, June 28, 2019, the Young Entrepreneur Association of Cambodia (YEAC) hosted a mid-year 2019 symposium under the presidency of HE Vongsey Visoth, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance, HE Heng Sok Kung, Secretary of State, Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, HE Dr. Kan Channmeta, Secretary of State, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and also the participation of the President, Vice Presidents, members and partner organizations of YEAC for a sum-up of mid-year progress result and also to review and prepare YEAC strategic plan for 2020-2025 at HIMAWARI Hotel in Phnom Penh. On that occasion, YEAC also organized a MOU signing ceremony on Digital Economy and Digital Transformation for SMEs in Cambodia with and between six institutions known as Knowledge Partners namely following Young Entrepreneur Association of Cambodia (YEAC), National Institute of Posts, Telecoms & ICT (NIPTICT), KONRAD ADENAUER STIFTUNG (KAS), AVI Cambodia, GEN-Cambodia, and finally Business Information Center (BIC). The MOU was initiated on the following purposes: • Knowledge sharing on digital economy to young students and especially young entrepreneurs, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). • Information publicity and sharing through information centers on knowledge of business initiative ideas, and research on digital economy among networking and partnership. • Experience exchange on digital knowledge, research and information within and between the six institutions, as well as other relevant institutions, both internally and externally. • Also, expanding the scope of partnership to create a public forum that everyone can access the digital information sufficiently and extensively for overall improvement. Based on this agreement, YEAC and the Knowledge Partners have decided on key activities: • Conduct research and survey with YEAC young entrepreneurs about digital knowledge and practices on their digital business operation. • Provide and support on data collection and store at BIC • Support and create training programs and other related programs on industry 4.0 (4IR) • And share digital knowledge between partnered institutions. After the MOU signing, all Knowledge Partners will prepare their individual strategic plans in accordance to the MOU’s goal.
